These one-day multidisciplinary courses are for all OUH medical and nursing staff who transfer ventilated patients within and between hospitals. The course will enhance your knowledge and skills through expert lectures, workshops and two simulation-based scenarios. You will be working in teams of three nurses and one doctor under the expert supervision of an experienced faculty. The faculty are senior nursing and medical staff from the OUH’s adult critical care units, members of CCAST, the RAF’s aeromedical transfer team, and the staff of OxSTaR, the OUH simulation centre.

Anaesthesia and ICM ST3 trainees are expected to attend the course during their ST3 year. Medical staff at other stages of training are welcome if sponsored by their educational supervisor. To request a place, please email the course nursing or medical leads, Carolyn Barrett or Graham Barker. Courses run from 08:30 – 17:00, in the Kadoorie Centre in the morning and in the OxSTaR Centre in the afternoon. The course is free of charge.

Carolyn Barrett, critical care follow-up team practitioner
